Have you ever met someone and hit it off instantly; like you've been knowing each other for a life time?!?! Well, that's exactly how I feel about these two! I met Percy and Caressa back in November of 2016 for their engagement session (which will make its way to the blog soon). Despite the short time knowing each other, every time we get together its like catching up with old best friends. We laugh, we talk about our kids (Caressa has already claimed to be my daughters Aunt), sometimes we get serious, but it's always a good time with these two. I love how invested Percy gets in the session, he loves looking for cool backgrounds and coming up with shot ideas. He even knows what pose I am about to come up with before I suggest it. I think my favorite part of collaborating with these two, is watching how in love they are. Seriously, they're so in sync with each other, it's really easy to find my place amongst them, so we can create something fun that reflects who they are.
Meet the Milfords
New website means lots of old gems to be posted. Like this family session! When I shot this family session a few years back, we were just starting out this amazing friendship with the Milfords! These guys are seriously some of the best friends you can ask for!! They're the kind of people that stick with you, build your faith, make you laugh, encourage you to be better, feed you the best food, and are always down for adventure. While our friendship is only a couple of years old, our families are now blended and I can't imagine life without them. Here's to more vacations, more missions, more laughter, and more memories with this crew.
James + Kayla
I've known Kayla, since high school. She was the bazooka to my bubble gum (literally, thats what we called each other). She may have helped orcastrate my relationship with my high school sweetheart, aka my husband for over a decade! So, when she contacted me to do her wedding I was over the moon! Kayla had been across the country with James while he was in the military. I hadn't seen her in forever, so to get spend her wedding day with her was seriously the best! I got to see just how wonderfully James loved her. It was so fun watching my firecracker of a friend meet her match, but what was even better, was the way he could make her melt. The way he loved her daughter as his own, the way he could make her laugh, James is a great man. I couldn't be more happy for my friend, and I'm totally grateful I got to share that experience with her.
Sedale + Raione
In Chinese philosophy, yin and yang describe how seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another.
Y'all, I couldn't think of a better analogy to describe these two. Sedale and Raione, or as well call them in our house Uncle Sedale and Aunt Rai, could not have been more perfectly designed for one another. Rai is a go getter, constantly striving to better herself and the people around her. She takes care of business and runs on faith. Sedale is easily the funniest guy you'll ever meet. He is a hard worker, but keeps things simple. In the midst of Rai's chaos Sedale brings out the fun and adventure in her. In the mundane, Rai, is Sedale's driving force. They bring balance to one another in ways they sometimes don't even realize they need. What an incredible gift it is that I get to call these two friends, and what an amazing thing it is for my daughter to have another example of true love looks like.
